HydroHybrid - Marine drive systems

NexxtDrive has developed configurations of its technology which will result in highly innovative and fuel efficient marine drive systems. A boat with a planing hull would have greatly improved acceleration, permitting rapid planing. Once there the engine can be throttled back by approximately half, while maintaining the high speed of the propeller. This can provide an estimated 40% + operating fuel saving as well as permitting engine downsizing.

With additional battery capacity the boat could have pure electric drive capability for noise or pollution sensitive areas or for stealth operation. The clutchless forward/reverse operation will also make maneuvering simpler.

In a twin screw/single engine configuration differential forward and reverse of the two screws will also provide cluthcless turn-on-the-spot capability.
